Why donate to the WORLD SOLAR FOUNDATION

Donations will be used for education and information, aiming at increase the level of people’s awareness on the harm which some human activities can cause to the environment.

Your funds will also be used to finance eco-projects, with a specific focus on sustainability. Their primary objective will be to preserve the future of the new generations. Profitable projects are financed by the private sector, while sustainable projects will be financed by the World Solar Foundation (WSF).

  How to donate to the World Solar Foundation

The WSF can receive straight-forward donations for direct investment in the domains mentioned here-above.

The WSF can also receive contributions for a specific period of time. A donator may give funds to the WSF for a specific period, for example 3 years with appropriate and acceptable guarantee for return, during which period his donation may be considered to be a tax deductible payment – depending on the tax laws of the country of residence of the donator. During the 3 year period, the WSF will invest such funds according to the wishes of the donator, in compliance with the guidelines and directives of the WSF. At the outset, i.e. 3 years later in the present example, the WSF will return, without any encumbrance, the assets which were acquired and developed with the said funds.

Donations can be large of small, whatever, since what matters is to share together the vision that our planet is our friend and that we have to behave in a responsible way for the future generations.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are critical to the mission and growth of The World Solar Foundation. Volunteers have been core to our values and philosophy. Much of success of the World Solar Programme 1996-2005 is attributed to the contributions of our volunteers. The World Solar Foundation rely on teams of dedicated volunteers to carry out much of their work.

We seek professionals with an expertise in business, procurement, logistics, laboratory diagnostics, business and intellectual property law, monitoring and evaluation of programs, quantitative analysis, computer programming, communications, and more! 

  Recognition of Donations

Whichever way the donator participates in the work and the financing of the WSF, his role will be recognized – unless the donator wishes to remain anonymous.

First of all, the names of the donators do show on the official website of the WSF.

Then, each donation will entitle the donator to receive an official certificate from the WSF, for accounting and tax purposes.

Finally, the “Solar Donators” (for contributions over and above $30.000) receive a framed certificate, showing the gratitude of the WSF for their contribution.
